At PROSOCO, we have long been in the trenches of industry initiatives promoting transparency in construction. We have worked side by side with designers, building scientists, contractors, and leading green building rating systems. LEED v4 and the Living Building Challenge v2.2 are blueprints to many of our formulations that surpass the highest green standards in contemporary building design and construction. All of this is part of PROSOCO's broader mission to make products that maximize building energy efficiency, durability and resiliency while leaving a minimal impact on the environment.
"The ingredients label for building products."
The International Living Future Institute, has awarded a Declare label for eight of PROSOCO's products. In May of 2014, Consolideck LS concrete densifier became the first-ever concrete finish to receive a Declare label. Since then six other products have been awarded Declare labels. The Declare program enables manufacturers to communicate their product ingredients in an effort to promote transparency and accountability.
With these labels, we've further demonstrated our commitment to transparency in construction products. "In a perfect world, the marketplace would reward product performance but also green building objectives," said Dwayne Fuhlhage, Sustainability and Environment Director for PROSOCO. "We're pleased to see this recognition from the Living Future Institute."

Living Building Challenge
"arguably the world's strictest environmental standard"
The standard set for LBC buildings is a high one: net-zero water consumption, net-zero energy consumption and reduced construction materials, impact on people and the environment. With limited exceptions, all materials used in construction must be void of any Red List materials. The Red List is composed of items that have been identified to be phased out of production due to health and toxicity concerns; many of which are found in common building materials. The Red List includes several hundred unique chemicals.
PROSOCO is proud to have been selected as the concrete finish and air and water resistive barrier supplier for the most notable Living Building Challenge commercial project, the Bullitt Center.
PROSOCO, in collaboration with materials suppliers, has reviewed the chemical content of these products to verify conformance with the Living Building Challenge 2.0/2.1 Materials Petal Red List.

Health Product Declaration
"Ensuring that transparency and ingredient disclosure are fundamental to doing business in the materials ecosystem."
PROSOCO is a Founding Sponsor of the Health Product Declaration Collaborative. The HPD Collaborative created the HPD Open Standard as a way to provide full disclosure of product content and associated health information for building products and materials.
The HPD is available free to all. The HPD Open Standard will streamline the process for communicating and using building product content and associated health information through transparent disclosure, by defining the critical information that is needed by building designers, specifiers, owners and users.
Health Product Declarations
SCS Indoor Advantage Gold™
"This level of certification meets North America's strictest indoor air emission criteria."
To be certified to the Indoor Advantage Gold™ standard, products must be independently tested by SCS-approved labs following specific protocols for measuring Volatile Organic Compounds (VOC) emissions. Indoor Advantage Gold™ ensures full compliance with the California Department of Public Health's "Standard Method for the Testing and Evaluation of Volatile Organic Chemical Emissions from Indoor Sources." Certification qualifies products to earn points under LEED v4, the widely adopted green building rating system developed by the US Green Building Council. Certification can also qualify products under the Collaborative for High Performance Schools (CHPS) and the Green Guide for Health Care for the low-emitting materials credits.
