One complete air and water barrier system, Declared.

July 3, 2017

PROSOCO is pleased to announce that we now offer a complete R-Guard air and water barrier system whose components all carry Declare labels.

So why should you care? Because if you’ve ever been involved in a Living Building Challenge project, you are likely starved for a simpler process of specifying and documenting material ingredients.

We know from experience what that process looks like: Pages and pages of submittal forms, layers of reviews, and tedious back and forth between designers, manufacturers, consultants, engineers, distributors, and on and on. And that’s just for one product!

We love the International Living Future Institute (ILFI)’s Declare product database because it simplifies that process significantly for you. You could either complete countless forms, specification documents and emails, or simply look up the Declare ID # for a product. That’s it, you’re done. It’s almost like having a magic wand to cut through all of the clutter.

That’s why PROSOCO has invested so heavily in the ILFI’s Declare ingredient transparency program, because we will whole-heartedly endorse something designed to maximize your project team’s efficiency.

Now that every component of our Cat 5 system (Joint & Seam Filler, FastFlash, AirDam, Cat 5 and now PorousPrep) features an IFLI Declare label, specifying an ICC-ES-conformant air and water barrier system is simpler than ever.

PorousPrep, a water-based sealer for raw gypsum board edges, has been used on two of our favorite Living Building Challenge projects – the R.W. Kern Center at Hampshire College and the Bullitt Center.

Time is money. This system is optimized for ease-of-use on the job site. To find out how it’s used, check out this handy R-Guard FastFlash system application video.

You can find the Declare ID numbers for all of our 13 products that carry a Declare label at the IFLI Declare Product Database. You can also read more about all of the ways we’re committed to promoting transparency in construction on our Sustainability page.
