JOB SUMMARY

To produce quality products by blending raw materials into finished products based upon written formulary instruction and processes.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Coordinate activities with research & development laboratory technicians and other lab team members to accomplish the goals of product development.

  • Must be trained and experienced on mixers, pumps, and tanks in all batch making areas.
  • Read and interpret formulation sheet.
  • Effectively communicate with production manager, production coordinator and line leaders as to the progress of batches.
  • Responsible for raw material storage/inventory. * Clean up and maintenance of mixers, pumps, and tanks.
  • Pulling samples for quality control.
  • Responsible for pit area – clean/neutralize waste.
  • Acid offloads.
  • Must wear appropriate personal protective equipment and following all safety precautions

OTHER DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Responsible for reporting leaks or spills to management. All other duties as assigned to meet production demands.

KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:

  • Must be proficient in the safe operation of a forklift and its maintenance. Certification required.
  • General product and chemical knowledge required.
  • Must be proficient with work procedures, methods of operations, and equipment involved on the job.
  • Must have knowledge of safety procedures and know what personal protective equipment is required with different chemicals.
  • Must have experience with mixing technologies; batch and process times for each product. *
  • Must be accurate, flexible, self-motivated, dependable, and able to keep up with production demands.
  • Must be able to motivate a team environment.
  • Must show initiative and be able to tackle problems or situations by arriving at a proper solution with minimum guidance.
  • Must be accurate and thorough during all stages of product manufacturing.
  • Due to the nature of our business, the ability to understand, read and write English fluently is required for safety reasons.

This position requires exposure to various chemicals in a production environment. Exposure to chemicals, vapors, and dust is probable and personal protective equipment is required. The plant is not an air-conditioned environment but is equipped with adequate air flow handling equipment and ventilation system. The plant is heated during the winter months.
